I am finding NFU very expensive aswell but having a local office always seems worth a bit extra especially when changing vehicles, drivers etc. I did query my last quote and eventually they reduced it by a reasonable amount. Worth a try.

nfu wanted £2k for both discos, one old tdi and one disco 4, both work policies, we queried they would drop £40!, so swopped and got both for under £1k.

i know things have gone up but both vehicles last year only came to £800 fully comp. and on business policies, both lads clean licences etc.

id shop around, as ive always been nfu, but they are getting dear.

i know this is going to sound terrible - but try the insurance company linked with tescos - i actually bartered with them last year and got a very good deal on my vehicle (they were a few hundred quid cheaper than my then current insurer - when i changed vehicles :thumbup1:)

nfu have gone mad with their quotes this year, i know alot who havent renewed this year with them, try swintons or moneysupermarket.com both weve had good deals with

Absolutely - our Landy Defender Station Wagon went up by 64% this year. No change to the policy or accidents. Did shop around but once they hear it has 9 seats most other insurance companies drop off.

Our Ford Transit van policies range from £349.41 for one of the SWB ones to £472.21 for the biggest LWB ones. The others are between these - strangely no two van have the small cost even though 3 of them are the same - just depends on when they are renewed and the market at the time I guess. They are underwritten by Aviva through our broker.

Just had my quote in from NFU for my Landy. It had gone up £100. Tried Direct Line and got it back down to what NFU quoted last year- £185.

BTW does anybody ever mention that they have fitted a winch?
