How much experience needed to go freelance?

Lets be honest when to many climbers work close by with your attitude would end up skint.

 

Our quality is as good as any ones but when you have many people after the same work price is the only barganing tool end of.

 

Again i would welcome any one too see my work i posted pics have a look.

telhol...i live 10 miles away from an arb college, and 2 miles away from one of the biggest utility arb contractors in the country. theres no shortage of climbers in my area...and im not skint

being reliable is far more important than being cheap IMHO. i sub for a few companies and cant believe how much **** they put up with from other subbies, turning up late or hungover. i ALWAYS get to site 10 minutes early with everything i need in working order. i dont drink if im working for someone else the next day. im the highest paid subbie round here but im not the best climber and i dont do brash dragging!

I wont say what i charge but from what was said in a previous thread i must be cheap im not skint i never said that but you say you have a college thats not a company competing against you and a big firm is easy to compete against they over charge.

I would love a day we all get together and have a chin wag bit of climbing would be fun.

 

Oh and a job that will take 8 hours i would never do just two people always a three man team cut clear chip.

Strongly disagree, the higher the tree, the more at peace I am, in fact I love climbing incredibly tall trees, and rigging them down from well over 100ft.

 

My favourite trees are ones where you can see the vast expanse of air and nothingness between you and the ground. Its both peaceful and beautiful at the same time.

I just read that again, what do you mean by it? especially the no arguements bit.

Im not a brill climber or a fast climber,in my oppinion if you finish the day with no injuries no damage and a happy customer.That is far better than trying to screw more money out of people.

I now sub climb for companies and they ask me back by subying its made me more proffesional and faster for my own tree work.Bickering over a few quid isnt worth it i value the experience more.
