hycrack log splitter a yes or a no???

A cord run around the side of the tractor cab, through the side engine cover and to the injector stop lever is just a little bit of a bodgey and primative safety device for my liking. I would prefer something that stops instantly rather than waiting for the engine to die.

 

It wouldn't take much engineering to introduce a dog clutch with a safety bar which when pushed would knock the drive line out instantly

 

Simple things save lives and limbs

Saw a guy screw one into his boot once, not a pretty sight.

 

 

How the hell did he manage that ??

 

I have one and reckon its a brilliant bit of kit, if people got more used to thinking for themselves and used some common sense they are fine, i have been running mine for nearly 15yrs without a problem, you just need to be on the ball.

He just got complacent, when a knotty log wouldn’t cooperate he took to kicking it on with the heel of his boot.

 

He pulled the safety string so hard it snapped.

 

The screw split his rigger boot and made a right old mess of his foot.

 

Ouch! But you can't blame the machine for that.
