Hi Mate,

We are packing up and have a 1 x37 easy (brand new) which we are selling it literally has done 25t and is in superb condition. Its a great bit of kit and we arnt looking for a silly price. PM if your interested and we can discuss further. Cheers

I bet this will be snapped up by him as it would be a perfect machine to churn logs out :thumbup1:

Before deciding have a talk to Jim at Caledonian Forestry. They sell the Palax range and I have been very happy with both the service and the machine - I decided on a KS35 Ergo after doing much research. The Palax seems heavier built, more robust than others I looked at:thumbup:

Forest machines from Jas P Wilson

posch are good machines

i'll second that, was walking round their yard a few weeks ago looking for a grab for 360 and got distracted by the processors, look well made and good company to deal with, some nice kit outside and the workshops are something else:thumbup:

We have POSCH 300 proccessor, its a great bit of kit alot quicker than chainsaw crosscut machines.

Its done over 300 ton this winter, the 12 ton split is the business you cant stop it! Build quality is in a differnt class to palax etc they only weigh about half a ton, only made for softwood. Posch are not the cheapest machines but are the best on the market. Wilsons are pretty good to deal with :thumbup1:

Yeah the Posch stuff looks nice too..............going to hire a guy with a Binderberger to start with and then buy a processor further down the line.

£130 a cube.........i tell the.........guy near us delivers it by the load of £130......his trailer is 8' x 5' x 1'......filled level is just a little over a cube......therefore £130 a cube.

i have used posch and dallen machines and found the posch truely awful to use in comparison

the way the logs have to roll into the splitter made it a nightmare on hardwood or even the slightest peg

the controls were very poor ergonomically and the splitting function isn't even automatic

whereas the dallen is increadibly ergonomic one handed control making it much qyuicker asweell there is a straight drop into the splitter which means it gets to the splitter as it should most the time unless the log is increadibly bent and the splitting function is automatic saving time

the dallen is also very well built and very simple

also i would say a log deck is a must otherwise using the processor is no quicker than seperate machines and a log deck requires a machine to load

I've gotta say that every machine seems to have it's pro's and cons.......the only thing i didn't like about Posch was when i saw this video

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vKjB56-mFU]YouTube - posch -spaltfix s-300 comfort firewood processor[/ame]

The very first cut it does the blade doesn't go right through hence it does't drop into the splitter!

I like the look of the big Palax machines.....they seem pretty quick and have plenty of power.......the Binderberger 520 looks good but the ram seems a little slow but i suppose at 30 tonn of pressure you can't have everything.

The 2 x Hakke Pilke seem nice and fast but then will really only do small diameter stuff.

I'm of the kind of thinking of buy once and buy good!

i have a 2x and its ok does only do small stuff but what about the hp 1x37 good machine and only 7k plus vat. Why spend over 10k unless you are going to do a 1000 tonnes a year.
