Ground saw predicament

Evening all, got a question for you all,

i've currently got a ms260 as my ground saw and also a 044. the 260 was running a 15" bar but bar is now knackered and needs replacing, this is a 2004 model, the 044 has an 18" bar on and is a 2000 model

It has been suggested to me to sell both my 260 and 044 to fund 1 main ground saw either the ms341 or the ms361/2 for the better anti vibes etc and have a new saw.

none of my saws are un reliable but with the 260 needing a new bar i thought it may be a good idea to sell both and put money to a new one? i have a 2010 stihl ms441 with 20" bar anyway as a larger saw....

whats your opinions please?

Cheers Chris

Doesn't really make sense! You say you have a 441?

So why not just buy a new 15" bar?

Don;t see the point in selling saws that are working fine.

Hope that helps!

I have a 441 thats a 2010 with 20" bar on

but also have the 260 and a 044, i thought of maybe selling the two off to fund a 341/361 with 15" bar brand new

If it were me I would just buy a 15" bar for the 260...both saws work fine and I think you have most things covered......maybe investing in a bigger bar would be preferable.

If you want a new saw then sell them both and buy one, but as they both work ok I wouldn;t bother for now.

if all the saws are working fine, I don't see any reason to sell them unless you feel you NEED a 341/361.

You have the 260, this is a nice lightweight saw for when you want to trim a couple of small branches. The 361 will be heavier and more overkill for this. Then the 441 for a larger saw. The 044 is a good backup saw, with its 18" bar it will fill in for the 260 if that one breaks down but has the grunt to happily pull the 20" bar of the 441 if needed.

just my opinion!

the saw is for felling small/medium tree's aswell, and for chogging down etc and use up the tree, i bought the 260 a while back and was fine with it till i started using a 361 for work. i'm looking to do more freelance work etc this year and want a saw for felling small/medium trees and for when the 200t isn't big enough

or should i just stick a smaller bar on the 044? saws haven't let me down but i would hate going in one day to climb for someone doing a dissmantle and something breaking down!
