Vermeer BC2000 Drum Chipper issue

small sticks / branches are going under the drum and going up the discharge shoot and blocking or contaminating woodchip, there is no anvil on the chipper, is this common and is there a solution,

 

That sounds like an odd setup.

 

Maybe wherever an anvil usually is is worn, therefore allowing small twigs to get dragged in rather than being chipped.

seems strange to me too, maybe there is something missing i.e. anvil!!, but it chips great, blades are brand new so not that, it doesnt look like it should have an anvil though. If anyone knows if it should please let me know!!

Hopefully someone will post who owns one but I would be very surprised If it wasnt supposed to have an anvil.

 

Something has to wear away.
