If your going it aloan on the sea allways take a vhf radio.

I would advise against going on the sea alone - considering your current experience.

If you are going on the sea in a kayak not a sit on top you really need a spray deck and there for idearly need to roll.

Once you have had the training you have a spectacular coast to explore up there!

If the club is linked to the SCA (or the like), they probably will be happy for you to try out their own boats so that you can form your own opinion of the sport and which boat suits best (especially which seat pan suits best).

I qualified as an instructor (for grade 1-2 only) when I was 18 and did a little bit of sea kayaking as well as rivers and lakes etc. I taught on a lake and got £12.50 an hour while I was still doing my a levels in 1988!! Good part time job that!

Sold all my kayak gear to pay for my alaskan climbing trip, but I still want to get a kayak, or maybe a canadian, one day.

I had a perception dancer, all the rage at the time!!

I had a perception dancer, all the rage at the time!!

I remember the Dancer - it was out at the same time as the Mirage!

The Dancer was a little shorter.

I will upload some pics on Saturday.

It's a Ocean Kayak Caper Angler in olive Green (11ft) comes with launching wheels, split touring paddle and floatation vest. It's been used about 6 times so other than a couple of very light beaching marks on the bottom it's as new.

It's a £750 package so looking for 400ish. Don't really want to sell it but the trouble and strife says I have too many hobbies and something must go,,,,,apart from her!

that sounds a good price for a caper, steve i,ve got a mate whos a distributer for ocean kayak if you were a bit closer i may have had a good deal for you
