has anyone used a hitachi top handle saw?

looking for a new top handle saw, was wondering wether anyone had used the hitachi? Always used a sthil but saw one of these at about half the price and got me thinking

But are they just keeping the price down to muscle in on the market. I wouldnt knock them untill i have tried it. Japs are well known now for producing quality goods so theres no reason why their chainsaws arnt.

Absolute rubbish mate. Boss has 3 tanaka toppers (runs a big crew), and they have been on the floor of the workshop for the last year at least, and that's where they'll stay. If you're looking for a cheap alternative the Makita topper is more than passable.

Also I think, but I'm not sure, that they have a sort of lock-on switch that keeps the throttle on without having to squeeze the trigger. Just what you want hanging off yer harness in the canopy! :scared:
