Hi guys,

Got my CS32 coming up a week tomorrow so just getting my prep done. I have a 15" on my MS270 and a 16" on my MS260 will they be enough? i thought about buying a 18" or even a 20" (if they are powerful enough to take it?) what do yous think? will my standard kit be alright for the job?

Cheers,

Jay

I wouldnt want to run either with an 18 inch I dont realy think they have enough power to work that.

As for the course it used to be a 15 inch bar size restriction but its all changed no and there is no size limit ( I belive) not sure whearther theres a restriction now

I used a 260 with a 16" bar for my assessment. Really you're supposed to have no more than a 15" but it made no difference for the trees we were felling.

I'd go with the more powerful saw as you will be using the full length of the bar most of the time.

Maximum recommended bar size is 15in. NPTC LARGER AT ASSESSORS DISCRETION

If you go larger than that you probably wont have big enough trees

Cheers guys!

Yep 15inch fine, as the idea of the course is you being able to fell a tree double the size of your guide bar. Its a good course, most enjoyable out of all the nptc's ive done.

I'd agree there, really anjoyable course! Had chance to get into some of the finer details of felling and working efficiently on larger trees
