Pete' date=' If they can't be arsed to start till 10, and then forget to go to the job they won the day before, I don't think I've anything to worry about!:001_cool:

Perhaps it was their signing on day?!:001_tongue:

I am intrigued by the call, I've rung the number twice today and its still switched off![/quote']

Wouldnt worry about it nige, could have just got the wrong number then realised the mistake!

I had a guy left two messages on my phone on tuesday- they were both the same message- recon he was doin the phone round and lost his place in the phone book:001_tongue:

Now theres a thought for big ammer- there was a "traveller" in a near by laybye the other day:thumbdown:

Was that the one on the main road near you with a sandwich board outside the camp saying " Scrap Wanted"?

They are actually expecting people to take them scrap??????

Probably too busy doing trees to go and collect it!

Back to the customers one liners...

Today I fell victim to the classic -

I don't remember that new summer house being under this tree when I quoted for the job?:confused1:

No its new we had delivered and erected last week!

The bloke went white when I said I just hoped it was well made as I wasn't taking any prisoners in this p*****g rain!

It escaped unscathed!:001_smile:

The only bit of clothing that I came home in that was dry was socks! Good old goretex.

Encouraging the groundy with mutterings of "men from the boys" and "character building" and "its Friday" etc....

Thats the one Nige, last i saw he was on the verge outside Bentley village. He has a white tranny with a set of roof ladders strapped on it- i guess if he does roofing and deals in scrap he must be a "tree surgeon" also:sneaky2:

I did notice his sandwich board also said "free collection". Theres no wonder, has anyone seen the price of scrap lately:scared1:

I had another customer rang me yesterday and said "can you come and lopp my tree?"

"i think i should come and have a look at it first and give you a price"

"oh, it will be fine, just come and do it...ive had blokes do my trees before so i know how much it should cost"

:scared1:
