but it can be still used like a hitch climber,

 

Similar, but you couldnt put a sling in between your harness and the bottom carabiner and have it advance smoothly like a hitchclimber. And it doesn't minimise all of the clutter on your bridge like a hitch climber.

If you create additional attachment points, the last thing you want to do is use them up by spreading your existing system all over them. Elegance and simplicity is key. you want to take things out of the system, rather than add them in.

 

That setup is gonna be clanking and jarring all the way up the tree and you'll have to buy new biners at the end of the week.

Yup :001_smile: That is why a small sling would be better than the maillon. Or a spare hitchclimber :sneaky2:

Rob, just buy another bloody Hitchclimber!

 

And take 12 pictures of that calendar and post them please.

I think I will end up getting another hitchclimber! Gotta get another crab too so I've got 4 of the same.

 

I just thought id have a play round and see what I could come up with.
