Would it be possible to fit some form of linkage to flick the chain brake on when the cut is finished then flick it off again when you pick the saw up to begin the cut.

Thought about it, reckon it would be easy enough to achieve.

hahaha everybody is looking for a cheap conveyor on fleabay now!

I happen to know where there are more of them!

Ok, the reason I asked for close ups was, I actually built one similar over xmas but somehow Ive not managed to get the angles quite right where the saw connects to the bench.

Mine is a static table unlike your belt but sliding the log along is not hard as the maximum I put through is approx 10".

The problem with mine is where I have it "hinged" on the table, the back handle of the saw is low down when you start the cut and is hard work on the back. NOT good for me! If I lift the saw pivot higher, the handle seems uncomfortably high when finishing the cut.

My attachment of saw to bench is slightly different too and not sure if it adds to my problem, but I have the bar pinched in a clamp, a bit like the ones on an alaskan mill. This clamp is part of the hinge.

I may be able to get pics tomorrow if the weather allows.

It`s a trade off for pivot and position. I find that sometimes I catch the off switch on the saw as I start the cut, if it was the old 268 I had it wouldn`t happen with the slide switch!

I quickly decided against bar clamp in favour of mount using bar/side cover fixings.
