Hodge, do you take the 8" as a maximum? I mean if you had a 52" length of cord, that's 6 logs at 8", and a 4" log, minus kerf.

 

Would you chuck the small log in the load, or separate it?

 

 

I keep these small logs seperate and put them all into 1m3 nets.

This way you have your 4-6" logs done for the customers who want tiny logs, with out having to cut them all small specially, therefore saving time and keeps every one happy.:thumbup:

I always try to remember to ask what size they can accomodate. The housewives love it. As do their husbands. I try to keep them between 7-10", a good mix of size. If a customer wants em' bigger, I've always got some big stuff to hand to mix in with the standard size. They get the unsplittable knotty bits that I lob to one side especially for this occasion.
