Arbocops points:

Chinese poo; these are really bad machines, we saw a chink copy of a Honda come into the dealership when i was there one day. Honda badges were in the right places, but looking beneath the plastics none of the parts were honda spec. The engine unit was a good copy, looks wise, but very poor quality. The guy had been sold it by a less than scrupulous person as a Honda 350 4wd, but it was 2wd. We took a series of pics and sent them to Honda and Trading Standards, he'd paid full whack for a new Honda, and it was worth about 1/3rd of what he'd paid.

Towing:

The towing limit of most machines is around 500kg. i've pulled some serious weight with mine, well over the recommendations, but not a good idea tbh. Off road I pull the Jensen round comfortably (over 750kg), but common sense has to prevail. So far as the clutch goes, never had a problem with the Honda clutches to date, and I probably use mine more than many in a work environment.

The quad is just a work-horse, a tool, used sensibly it will work well and safely, it has its limits, as does any equipment. If you want a tractor, the quad is not one.

Thanks Andy.

I'm seriously toying with the quad bike and trailer route and selling my transit. Ill still have the pickup and trailer for anything further afield but being as most of the work usually within five miles of home id be able to make a good saving on the insurance and running costs plus the speed of being able to get the kit right out to the job.

and if you are going to ollow that law thing the weight of the average chipper would be moore than your permisserble weight on the draw bar,

sorry to sound negative but i really agree with andy hearit sounds more like a tractor is what you need, love my quad love to play and for the jobs were it is the right tool it really is the right tool, but what you describe does not sound just the right job.
