I swapped 12 Beers for a pair of Alloy Spurs last year and later bought a pair of Spikes just like yours in New Condition for £130 from a member on here.

Hi mike just wondering how are you getting on with the spikes?.

(rsk) i would pay between £ 50-60 for the spikes

pics attached. I got them off ebay for £95. They were described as new, with wraps that were used but in good condition. Both these claims are untrue, but i am trying to work out what they are actually worth before i try and get my money back

Don’t worry about what you think its worth, it’s simply not as described so return it for a refund.

thanks for the replies, think i'll try and get some money back off the seller, or raise it wih ebay complaints dept.

Do not start chipping the price after the fall of the hammer, it’s just not the way auctions are done.

If you have your hand up when the hammer falls you own it, eBay is a little different because most people can’t examine the goods beforehand, your best option is to return the item as “not as described” and get your money back.

I'm not trying to change the price, just trying to strike a new deal with the guy before i try and get a full refund - the fact is i wouldn't mind owning these spikes for £50

Can’t you see the contradiction in your statement?

You aren’t trying to change the price but you wouldn’t mind chipping him by nearly half.

Tell the seller you are sending them back and see if they offer a discount but don't hold your breath for half.

The spikes retail at about £200.00 without the Velcro pads so half money for second hand isn’t a bad deal.

Found the same spikes new price £255 with standard buckles and another site £80 +vat for velcro wraps. Based on that not too bad a price, but I would not be happy as thats not my idea of 'as new, with wraps that were used but in good condition'.

I would try for refund.

The spikes are fine, your just giving yourself extra grief trying to get money back.

Those velcro-wraps dont last anyway, especially if its the ones without the metal inserts, in fact to be frank, they are total and utter junk, bin them or you'll do yourself an injury.

Basically you were paying for the Kleins themselves which are probably worth more than £95 regardless of the fact they've been used.
