fallen out with oak now, been burning just oak for about a week and ok the fires still going in the morning but the heat output is pretty naff, i had to move the sofa up to the fire just to feel it.. it was cut down last january, split straight away and stacked in the dry woodstore, can't wait to finish it off and get back to beech and syccie:001_cool:

 

Needs another two years seasoning. Best wood going oak but it needs time.

Mainly been burning Oak this year , but have had to mix in some August felled Ash ,to get the heat up a bit during the cold spell.

Been burning some sycamore and find it burns through fairly fast. Now going between willow and ash. Can get an overnight burn with ash but not with sycamore or willow.

finally run out of beech, pity as you just throw another couple of logs at it in the morning and its off again, started burning fresh ash which is ok when its going but i use a blowtorch to light it every morning:thumbdown:

This winter it's cherry birch ash and alder, next winter poplar yew alder and leylandii. All mixed and burnt and produces good heat.

Mostly Hawthorn, Blackthorn and Laburnum. I save the ash, beech and sycamore for selling. Can you tell I was given hedgewood this time last year?
