We have a 5 month old springer, just got out of the vets after chipping her spine. Wasn't sure if she was going to be able to walk again for a while but shes slowly recovering now. Awesome dog so far though, always willing to play and walk.

My Bramble has a horrible tendency to jump over 4 ft stock proof fences. He clears most of them. He has only come a cropper twice but luckily not broken anything.

Always a worry that one.

Yep especially when he still has all of his tackle and it clears the fence by a few inches that always makes me wince. As Charlie a few seasons back somehow managed to slice the top of his sheath on a piece of layed down barbed wire. We didnt notice it until we got home and noticed him licking like crazy. There was no blood which was strange but my god did it make me n my dad squerm.

My lab (1/4 springer) will jump fences, however I either get him to jump at the gate or I lay my leg along the barbed wire and he jumps over that. :001_smile:

I try to ensure my Cocker doesnt jump fences, she tends to "bank" which is a problem with barbed wire.

Being small, its scruff of the neck and drop on the other side, or she finds somewhere to squeeze under.
