what is it that causes the irritation. Is it a lichenous dust on the bark or is it the dust created when cutting/chippingthe wood?

 

Rec climbed these loads you see and i've never hada problem. awesome moves, the branches and all so long, twisty turny and strong as hell. Used to call them the bungee tree.

 

Hairs on the underside of the leaves are the problem. They form clouds when you chip them, which then irritate :sneaky2:

I think the 'seed' balls on them are to blame too. Especially the new ones in june/july in the Northern hemisphere. I say 'seed' cos they are infertile but i presume the balls would be the seed pods if they could reproduce naturally? Stay away in mid summer! I hate them :thumbdown:
