hi all, i look after the grounds for some residential care homes,we have an area that has been used as a rubbish dump for about 5 years and was asked for quotes to remove the waste, ie grass cuttings, logs, leaves and general rubbish.

there was a huge heap, ie 3 ro,ro s full at least.

well i didnt get the job , but some other guys did.

damage to lawns, smashed glass in greenhouse, broken overflow pipe from one of the rooms, broken pots, trashed plants/shrubs, waste material left in flower beds etc, you get the picture.

ok some damage was to be expected, ie lawns etc, but surely this should have been included in the quote, to make good any damage to lawns etc.

my quote included making good any damage.

thoughts please as i am fuming at the mess caused with no promise of damage being put right and i am under pressure to keep the grounds looking tip top all year round,, cheers mike

now go split firewood with an axe till you're not angry anymore:angry::thumbup:

Good advice!

(but make sure you use a rotating choping block that incoperates a tyre, and a dodgey finland twisty axe)

Dont worry about it, they went with a cheaper quote and got a cheap job. let you bosses know the damage and that its not really down to you to sort out.

Make a list of the damage and include estimates on how much to repair. Present this to your boss with an internal smile.

Its just typical of spreadsheet accounting - all figures and no thought about the job in hand. Sorry to see you have been upset by it.
