Unidentified Bird Species Over London

Pretty sure the first picture are swifts (Apus apus)having just migrated in from Africa, the second ones a bit more tricky.

Think they're Black Hawks, (member of the Accipitridae family ?) seen in large numbers over London today, I think they are possibly some sort of carion as Mr Death was in town today, and they could obviously smell the stench of war.

 

Seriously though, it was quite intimidating.

There were a good number all over London today, felt like Baghdad

haha we have the Apaches around here, right on the main flight path. Been pretty quiet here tbh.

A guy at work today saw a team of black humar 's on the M25 at 6.30... could have been the 'W' making his way from airport.

I must say, I'd rather see this species of bird over London than some of the types that were seen 60 odd years ago......

yep i saw them today up the tree in wentworth i think they are something to do with farnbough airshow

The ones we saw were definately American Hawks;

patroling London's Airspace due to todays Bush visit.

dont the RAF have some aphaches in there arsenal???or aleast some operational after there cock up when they first brought a load???see them all the time here amongst every other type of military helicopter as bassingbourn barracks is 2 milles away
