For your needs, there is only one sensible answer. Land Rover Discovery.

The thinking man's 4x4

They were known as the thinking mans defender when they first came out- a way of making farmer palmer feel a tiny bit better about himself, but they were also known as the poor mans range rover:001_tt2::lol:

Do you know anyone who has one then darren:confused1::laugh1:

Mate I've always rated L200's as a good mix of torque for pulling, off road ability and road comfort. It can be beaten in all three area's but offers a good standard in all. Also in my experience as controversial as it might be to critic landrovers, but you have to pay more money to get a age for age vehicle compared to the Japanese options, which usually means compromising price or go for a older landy and potentially comprimise reliability?

Good luck with it and the new business whatever you go for.

you have to have the window open on a landrover all time because there is no where for your arm to go

yeh but when you get stuck in another 4x4 your whole body will be outside the window walking through the woods to find someone to pull you out anyway

Forgot to update this thread, ended up buying a Ford Ranger crew cab which I'm very impressed with both on and off the road and has certainly paid for itself many times over. Thanks for all the responses and help its much appreciated.
