hiya guys , i have recently been wondering if biomas would have a place in domestic heating . Would it be possible or viable to burn biomas in wood burners , or possibly be used to vary coal-biomas ??

 

Has anyone tried this? or do you think that it is a non starter ?

do you mean woodchip? if so lots of householders are doing it, ideally you need a lot of room for storage and vehicle access as deliveries are bulky and loading into a large hopper isnt as easy as say a diesel tanker turning up and running a hose, chip doesnt flow down a pipe.

how did you find that out huck ? .

 

i was wondering if pure wood chip would be an acceptable burning medium maybe an alternative to coal .

intresting , how does that happen exess heat ? ,been on gas i dont get the plesure of logs any more

If you put chip on and it crusts over, burning underneath, the area above the chip can fill with gas (from the heated chip) if a spark then makes its way through the chip...........................BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ha ha ha feck that then huck , i can just imagine the calls i would be getting from rather angry customers minus their house lol . So i take it there is no use for it with the domestic Firewood/ Fire fules industry

i need to get a log fire/burner ,all that wood & paying a pigging gas bill:thumbdown:
