processor and operative for hire

As you are charging per cube, have you taken into account the "varied" nature of most firewood from tree surgery. I know that I'm very selective now about what timber I keep for my firewood production v's selling on for other firewood production - 8" dia straight birch/alder/ash/ oak etc is far quicker to process than a whole load of oversize and bent branch wood.

If you can cater for that then it's a belting idea, I have a few regular clients (hotels, estates etc) that have access to wood and not the know how / kit to process it quickly and effectively.

Some now get me in to fell and stack it, then get me back in the spring to process it into the woodshed:thumbup:

I have done it for a couple of years. Nice straight 8" stuff £35 a cube ringed chunky stuff £50 a cube. We ring and split 6 - 8 Cube in 6 hrs on a saturday. Sometimes charge £300 guarantee 6 cube 8 if your lucks in. If there are any real me out there that can do better I can sub the jobs to you.

Just make sure you get paid for the work done. Hired my processor out for 10 days to a member on here and still not paid after 4 months. I know times are hard for some of you arb guys but this is taking the michael.

Had the desired effect on the day of a "cheque in the post". Now I know Royal Mail can be slow but this is ridiculous.
