is that a 40m climbing rope i see going up the tree beside the ladder, he he. get back there with a hedge cutter and level that off or fell it mate:lol::001_tt2:

I would have preferred removal. But that what they wanted. Didn't want to leave it as a square top so left it staggered like that.

I didn't have another rope with me unfortunately and it was only a a central point to keep my balance. The ladder was the best access to a good standing point which even that was crushing my feet. Worked with what I had to do. Customer was happy so why should I complain?

i thought :001_tt2::lol:made it clear i was just messing. you should get yourself 3 stage step ladders, it means you can go tight to the tree and then put the third stage over the edge. great for little conny jobs like that with silky or loppers, even a hedge cutter for the finer finish:biggrin:

I did actually nearly bring the hedgecutters (I mean forgot to pack them but same thing!) . But I could have done with some some secateurs on that job. Everything was as thin or thinner than my little finger and I had a zubat to do it with! The odd leader to do but that was 3-4 strokes with the zubat and it was done. I found the job quite therapeutic actually. As it was a nice day and nice weather and It was all done before 11!

Would have been more fun as a takedown though. Got another job through the customer so happy days

yeah because i wouldnt have been able to do the back cut properly, that height meant the saw would actually have enough room to get between the tree and the shed, with me still being able to hold it. that was actually my first domestic job, i look back on it now and i do see many flaws that day.
