somthing a bit abstract that my groundy recons looks like a massive phallus...would of liked to have spent more time on it but could see the dude we where working for was getting narked at his wifes requests to carve stuff instead of doing proper tree work!

no ,mate just charge by the day on that job....spent around an hour and half on booth but the less spent clearing elder scrub the better,quite enjoyed it as well that thuja is beutifull timber just a shame i could not of spent the rest of the day on it as it was just getting to the point of hacking away at it i was thinking about pulling some more imaginary shapes that would of made it look a lot more decent, but hey more ideas for the future

handy technique that matty....it may just be the picture but that top cut of the wedge really oughta be sloping the other way about, those jacks can pop out if you're not careful.

 

 

You could use a High lift jack of the Landrover? Strap it round the base to secure it or girth hitch etc.
