General Tree pics

Cleaning out the birdbox camera,

this was our first play on a SRT set up, using a blakes and pantin, one of my mates had left his rope installed in the tree for me to practise on, although its an 11mm and i found it a bit narrow, but its good to just go and practise techniques.

the pantin took some getting used to, which i think wasnt helped by the fact that the rope was quite bouncy!

thats me in the 1st pic and the wife in the other two, she does lots of bat surveys on houses so i think shes keen to do tree surveys for bats ($$$:icon14:).

We are staying within ladder distance of the ground as well just so things cant go wrong, looking forward to getting a bit more practise in. Is there a quick was of detaching the pantin without having to lift your leg right up? i thought you should be able to just tilt and lift your leg and the rope should detach?

(please any critical comments will be appreciated as we are still learning, but nothing to harsh!)

some pics of radial trenchin, done for defra and Natural England on some extremly important chestnuts... Felling of a knackered H chestnut and finally doing some work to a tree full of bats - we capped the top to stop water entering the roost through winter storm damage......
