How far up the trunk did the cavity/decay go ?

 

It was field grown , soon to be a gravel and sand pit. The cavity was at least 5' up as compost. It looked like a straight fell but I decided to demonstrate how to bore through with my new 088 that I purchased at the arb show. Steve pictured had never seen it done he is a landscaper and grounds contract holder with the quarry. Lucky I did cos it would have gone down like a sack of ...
