Working in Bristol city centre yesterday on a large Lime removal. X-rings getting a good beasting in a small drop zone.

What kind of loads can the x-rings take? Was looking in to buying them, seems a fairly simple set up. You got any pros and cons to say about them as opposed to a rigging block?

Any advice appreciated mate.

Also nice view of my hometown.

Pros:

-light weight

-can get a higher right point by sharing the load.

-cheap

-constant usable friction every time.

-controls stem wobble and less jerking.

-strong

Cons

-not midline attachable

-won't replace a pulley for every situation (pulling up) but most.

People can add more as they see fit.

Know matter how big or small your outfit, they'll find a usable place in your rigging bag.

I think you have sold them to me, I'll still have a block but they seem to be a useful bit to have in the kit bag. Gonna have to look in to splicing as well I guess.

Thanks for the input, have seen them popping up more and more, and figured it's time to get some advice on them.
