Just a guy with a bit of land here so please excuse my ignorance. I'm going to cut some were saplings at the weekend and want to make sure they don't come back. I have roundup root killer, will that be ok to use? Just spray it on the stump and that should be that?

Cheers

Yeah was wondering if that might be an issue. Sounds good, so basically keep an eye on them and if they sprout next year hit them again?

Hi davey

there is a new product availible in the uk called ecoplug.

if you go to

www.ecoplug.com

it will tell you about it. it uses a glyphosate chemical but because of the method of delivery is much moor affective than the normal liquid aplication.

cheers

We treat our stumps with neat glyphosate. It does the trick on most of the stumps. The only problem we have is the sycamore and birch as they pour water throughout the year. We do those in the autumn

Round up from the garden centres has a very low Glyphosphate ingredient. Round up pro is available at some agricultural stores but it is nearly £40 a litre, but of course you can use less of it in each mix.

With the garden centre stuff just mix it at least twice as strong as they suggest for stumps and spray liberally.
