Its an offence to discharge a firearm within 50 feet of the centre of the highway, if it cause a nuisance to other users of the highway.

If theres no-one there, then no offence has been commited.

I'll agree to disagree on this one....:001_smile:

From the Police website

It is also against the law, in England and Wales, to discharge a firearm within 50 feet of the centre of a highway if this results in someone being injured, interrupted or endangered.

Whilst it is sad that this beast has been shot, I somehow think that Darwin's theory of survival of the fittest, now lets another Stag enter the gene pool.

What I do find pretty abhorent is the cavalier attitude to other peoples sensitivities in the dumping of the carcass rather than using it or disposing of it in such a manner unlikely to arouse a strong reaction. What wassock has decided that his actions will help the Pro Hunt, Pro Countryside lobby shows the reverse of Darwins "fittest" theory.

Prat and those with him do indeed need their knackers removing!

I dont think Darwin was including bullets in his theory... its a disgrace to kill such a magnificent specimen in such a cowardly manner.

If my dad and i are shooting in a private wood within 100 ft of a highway we put signs stating that shooting is in progress. that way if a horse bolts then we can say that we had signage warning them.
