my son is on a cs30 course at the local collage hes takern a 357 xp sthil allround protection forest wear trousers . The instructor is also a hse accident investigator he is saying trousers are wrong

this possibly is caused by the husky saw - the 357xp has a chain speed which is greater than the level of protection given by a class1 pair of trousers , if im correct the trousers are offering protection for a chain saw running with a max chain speed of 12 meters per second and the 357xp runnes nearer 15- these are only rough figures but i think thats the problem !!

timtree not proclimber golden grove it is to do with 357 chain speed something like 20 mt sec this would mean insurance will not cover whilst useing said saw and trousers in the likelyhood of an accident

apparently not ! you are meant to wear class 2 trousers when using a 357xp , im sure there was a previous thread regarding this .

 

I stand corrected. Husky 357 chain speed 21.4 meters per second.
