I'm a big fan of the canon eos range. My father in law has had the older 300D since it came out, and it is still comparable to the newer machines.

 

I'v not used that particular model, but the spec is better than the 300 on paper, so I'm sure it wont disappoint.

I've run a 400D for about three years now, fitted with either the standard 18-55mm Canon lens or a Sigma 70-300 zoom/macro lens. I went (as advised) with a Lexar Prof 2GB 80x Speed card which allows something like 420 exposures. The camera is so simple, my kids use it and the software is extremely good. Cost about a little bit more from the local camera shop but got it all inc bag and skylight filters all in one hit.

I've got the EOS350D about 3 years ago.

Its the nuts, picture quality is excellent.

I also use for underwater pictures as well (scuba-diving)

the pictures come out perfect even at 30 metres deep, if you into that kind of thing.
