Ive not had my eye on the ball of late, ive put into action some long overdue renovations with considerable help from my very good friends, plastering wiring etc etc. This will mean two rooms rented out and cut 2/3rds off my expenses! and thus a lab at the bottom of the garden and all the resources i need to actualy start to put my dreams into reality. I may have even found a mentor, one of if not the best i could hope for, now all i need to do is finish the hard work here at home and then, well, it will be time to get down to some real serious fun!

Its a long time coming, but very soon i will have it all to play for.

Hamadryad,

I read something in Tree News which might be of some interest to you.

A call for people interested in writing papers which address any topic concerning trees and the built environment with regard to both social and natural sciences.

BUT, deadline was 1st November for submission of 1000 word abstract.

However, it proves that these opportunities are open to you.

More info contact Dr Mark Johnston, Myercough College. [email protected]

Thanks rob, i know the AA offer two grants a year to the value of 10k for similar efforts.

Im pinning my hopes on JNCC funding at the mo, for the hericiums, and will maybe apply for the AA grant for the " strategies and implications of Auricularia mesenterica on fagus"

ive got my eye on a few books on authoring a PHD from amazon too which look well worth the time.

ive got my eye on a few books on authoring a PHD from amazon too which look well worth the time.

argh theyve arrived!

Your PhD thesis "how to plan, draft, revise and edit your thesis"

How to get a PhD "A handbook for students and their supervisors"

Getting a Phd "An action plan to help manage your research, your supervisor and your project"

So the comment about it "being like war and peace" was wrong, as it states cleary that a PhD thesis is around 60,000 to 80,000 words!

well got some hardcore reading to do for a few days now!
