Just ordered fungal strategies, thanks again for the link. Anyone else who's interested better be quick, reduced to a less than £35 with postage, but only till the 31 march!

Just got to wait for delivery ;)

 

Good link. I went to the library first to check out the book and have just ordered my copy :thumbup1:

Just checked my order form again as this book hasn't arrived, turns out they don't have it in stock! They have said publisher is considering a reprint and will take money from my card as soon as it becomes available, think ill cancel and go elsewhere/ get another book!

Inonotus dryadeus, is it really the disaster it is billed to be? Well if this little set does not convince you that Dryadeus is not a parasite but a recycler in 99% of its colonisations then you really are a stubborn fool!

 

had this tree been colonised by even the mildest root parasite it would have long since taken a dive, the entire wieght of this tree sits over a void and it is ONLY those tension roots within the bank to its rear that are holding it so.

 

It needs some help for sure, but it wont be the fungi that causes its demise, it will be the constant erosion and self undermining that will create the failure.

 

We simple cannot justify fells based on the simple presence of inonotus dryadeus:001_cool:
