Mallorca treework.

Just had a break on the island, what a great place.

 

We were down at the marina checking out the hundreds of multi million pound boats, most of them English, ( recession, what recession?) I heard from the other side of the harbor the unmistakable sound of a chainsaw, so being a nosey barsteward, I went and took some pics and had a chat with the guy up the tree.

 

Yuan was up the Pine tree with no PPE using a rear handled echo to remove some limbs, he was however using a 16mm rope for lowering.

 

I told him he was loco for not wearing a harness and having no climbing line, he just laughed and said it was normal.

 

I wished him well, he seemed to be a really nice guy, I have thought about sending him a old harness.

I once fancied the idea of going to do a year of tree work in spain when I was free and single but perhaps learning the language wouldn't be the only struggle!

i went to malljorca a few years back, from what i rember the tree work was shocking!!!!!

they have the rules, they just choose not to follow them so strictly.
