i dont get too excited about fungi, but that ones actually pretty cool! you nabbed this for the fungi directory yet david?? haha

sean you happy for these to go into the directory?

 

I know hamas stance already.

 

 

Never went in the first tranche, as we didn't really have enough images, especially as it's such a rare find.

 

But these would sit nicely with Tonys.

The hairs thin out a bit as it opens, but seans is particulary fine, and I suspect his one would have been the size of a dinner plate opened out, awsome sight, definatley in my top ten fave fungi.

 

Someone posted them on an ash a while back, I think it was in the Tis the season thread I think but maybe a personal "whays this" type thing, shall have a look for it later, was a good environment shot.

Came across thes hosted on silver maple.......big old collapsed pollard......must have had about 8 or 9 in all running up the stem.......managed to climb a little way up and then hanging prcariously with arm hooked around epicormic managed to take a few shots.:001_smile:
