climbed on it for ahwhile, thought it was a good Hitch for sure. i found VT good and free running but sometimes u need to dress it before sitting back on it, and twist ur rope like a bugger.

I now climb on the Knut and 10mm ocean poly, works mint always need dress but only for very first part of and climb, and then re-set it and works mint and always locks off. Will have another climb on it now you mention it, but the Knut is overall the best working hitch with a hitch climber in my humble opinon.

I do believe you possibly got your "Knut" spelling a little wrong, old chap

It looks like a knut from the pick.

Am I wrong? just has the bite on the other side than I put mine.

Sh*t what am I climbing on! :blushing:

Works for me though with the hc in system:thumbup1:

You're not the only one! It looks an awful lot like the knot I'm climbing on too! :laugh1: I started with a distel but the OP i was using was new and stiff and wasn't gripping, so i put a knut termination in the bottom, worked a treat.

Hey,

I also had a look at this knot at the APF and it would appear to be what i have been calling a Knut for the last 12 months. It is an awesome not, a lot better then the Distel and for me, a lot more reassuring to use then the VT. Although lots will now post that the VT is awesome etc etc...each to there own!

As many have already said, used in conjunction with the Hitch Climber and some Ocean Polyester and your on to a winner.

I havent as yet had any trouble with this Michocan, never needed to redress it, always locks off. Only using a pulley right now but Hitch Climber to come. Been using 9mm boa but got some 9mm armor prus coming back with eye to eye spliced in so gonna see how that works out, on paper, should be better?? havent tried the Knut really so might compare and contrast when i get the armor prus.

sweet man, yeah thats good it works for you dude. the old Armor prus ay, thats coming all way from New Zealand. i am currently in NZ, loads people climb on it, its gd hitch cord but i climb on 10mm and dont as keen on it to the 10mm OP. i dont think it be 9mm armor prus either, be 8mm green or 10mm blue.

Anyways hope it keeps working well man

I found the knut hitch would occasionally tighten and jam but when working I much preferred it to a blakes or distel, really didn't like the vt.

Tried the michocan today, I use 8mm armor prus and yale xtc plus with a hitch climber pulley. Found it to be the best I have used so far, subject to further testing, it grabs reliably and smooth descents.

Will definitely be using the michocan for now!
