Mog Rev's?

I have seen a few posts stating that 1000RPM is the speed many people run their chippers at.My Farmi works best with the rev counter reading 1500RPM.Is this giving me 1000 at the PTO,or am I thrashing the Chipper and drive train?

This is on a U1000.

do you mean the rev counter on the mog dash? the mog could be/ should be doing more than 1000rpm engine speed to give 1000rpm at the PTO, like i said Flails/chippers on modern tractors require them to be pretty much flat out 2200/2300ish RPM, and they have a pto speed in the cab too

My U1000 was reving to about 1450rpm in thou speed to get the green light for the "no stress" device to work. in 540 box the engine was nigh on flat out to get the green light. I prefered thou as it was quieter and used less diesel.

I think with a mog to get 1000 rpm at pto its 2400-2500 engine rev's.

Where was the "no stress light" on the Mog or chipper?I understand some Tractors have a device that will increase the revs if the attached device draws the revs down underload.My Mog has none of that.

Yeah,I'd say that the 1450/1500 rpm range is about what I'm currently running the CH160 on.What a titty system for adjusting the anvils.Spent ages fine tuning them the other day,only to have the anvils"modify" the leading edge on the blades...bugger.

eah modern tractors have a device that not only adjusts the revs but also the injector pump to help keep the desired revs under load

the no stress light mentioned, if i understood correctly, would be on the chipper Mike

 

Essentially, most tractors have at least two pto gears (more and more have a 3rd 'economy' gear). one 1000ish one 540rpm. that is the speed the PTO will be spinning at a set and documented engine RPM.

 

Does a Mog have two PTO gears?
