Well I am impressed with the hitch climber and hitch cord that Nod sent me, today I tried it while dismantling a fair sized Black Pine and before the resin got on it the hitch performed excellently, so much smoother than my usual micro pulley set up, I also tried that little trick of clipping the saw on the eye of my climbing line and bugger me it worked!

Thanks once again Nod and Steve for the pics of his set up.

I sometimes put a prussik loop in above the krab and eye on my climbing line and clip a big saw to it to take the weight when discing down a multi stemmed. It goes up and down with you and you can adjust the height with the prussic.

...and of course, you are not constantly hutching up your harness from round your knees :icon14:

I'm climbing with a split tail and micro pulley at the moment. What difference with a hitch climber provide?

The hitch climber is more suited to use with the VT or distal. With a split tail and micro-pulley (unless it's used as a vt, i.e. hand over hand ascent then tend the slack)) there would be little benifit to you.

Have you seen this?

Cool...personally I want to see an 8mm spliced eye version of the ocean polyester before I am really happy that the guys have my best interests at heart...it plays real friendly without all the messin' about with knot configurations yeah!!!:scared:

ermmm....they do one

Do they mate....? I understood thay there were issues with the 8mm splice...they were not happy wiyh the strength apparently....so we are left with the 10mm if you want eye to eye...personally...like I said, prefer the smaller cord.......it holds it shape and therefore grips more easily or readily perhaps...thers nowt more worrying than constantly having to dress your knot before bomb to the ground IMO ?<<><><?
