is a double bund 3 layers then, as in the tank layer and 2 outer layers?

and a single bund 2 layers?

I have never seen a double bunded tank. I think there is often confusion with bunded and double skinned (essentially the same thing) becoming “double bunded”.

A double bund is pretty pointless, the bund should contain any leakage from the tank, a second bund would be to contain leakage from the bund.

Since you would repair or probably retire a failed tank I just can’t see the point of 2 bunds.

Could be but I doubt it. Strictly speaking a bund is to keep contents escaping so the pedant in me would call a triple skinned tank bunded with armour

I don’t know if it would work well enough to justify the expense. I have seen a telle handler put his forks through a bunded tank. Straight through both sides, I don’t think another layer of 16’s gauge would have helped.

i know someone who runs 50 sight bowsers for water and fuel and the regulations are increadibley tight so its probally someone in hse who doesn't have a clue trying to make the rules

also for sight use there will be rules regarding the whole pump mechanism and filler

for anyone who is intereasted they found the easiest piece of kit for small litterages kind of less than 500 litres was the double bund plastic ones with intergrated pump as they already have all the tickets with them whereas if you use an external pump its even more regulations
