Anyone know what has possibly caused this red coloration in this sycamore, never seen anything like this before?

 

Interesting find Rob

 

Fusarium reticulatum or Arthrographis cuboidea perhaps

Had a look at both of them and if i had to stick my neck out i think i;d go for the Arthrographis

 

Right then,

 

either get yourself a really expensive microscope or flip or coin :thumbup:

Ofcourse alternatively, it could be a rare case of the stain of Homoderma sapiensis :biggrin:
