mine was deffinatly haveing no confidence in the 'flex' and movement of trees and slipping on my spikes!!!! think alot of it is phycoligical(exceuse the spelling)

but i think alot of 'fear'comes with in experience, most days i feel fear but i think it can be controlled like being up high on a pole etc:icon14:

Ive just started climbing, on tuesday, at first my biggest fear was changing anchor points, and trusting it, but thats getting a little better now.

I spiked up a 50ft pole yesterday, and that was the scariest thing ever, the first 10 - 15 foot was very difficult, my spikes kept slipping etc, but once i got the hang of it at 20ft, i just went flying up.

dont go too high at first, poace your self, i rember being on a 50ft leaning pop with no brash on it and the groundies(v experienced climbers) pulling on the rope and making the stem rock like a mother!!!!! scared the crap out of me!!!
