Am I right in thinking that that is quite high fruiting for Armillaria spp? I don't think I've ever seen it fruit over around knee height. It must be running out of food!

 

It's certainly the highest I have seen it fruiting from, but would not think it is unheard of.

Quite a sight :thumbup1: . And did you notice the massive production of spores "powdering" underneath the gills of other FB's standing caps white ?

 

 

Gerrit, I saw/see the classic Armillaria white dusting, but which particular shot(s) do you refer?

Yes, and it reinforced the process (in my mind at the time) of noting the spore colour early on during identification (as you eluded to with the Californian fung from the other day)
