I get some of my ideas from garden centres. just having a wonder round and looking at how their furniture is made, then i go home and make something better and at half the cost usually. basically just practice till your happy with it. Good look.

I asked this question a while back. I must say get a plain note pad and draw your ideas then have a go a making them. I used some rubbish pine when i started and they all ended up on my fire:lol:

Just keep making different things until someone says 'how much for that?' - then make lots more of them!

 

I've found a good way of making tables but you need a Peterson mill to do the legs quickly is the only thing...

These are mainly about "stick furniture", not slab

I like Jack Hill's "Country Chairmaking", uses lots of rounders
