Iphone repairs?

Phone got soaked yesterday in a down pour, totally dead now. Just wondering if anyone has used any of the online repair websites? or had their phone repaired by apple themselves?

need it back double time, can't believe how dependant i've become on it.

I've cracked the screen on mine and apple want £140 for a new one. Home contents cover should do it.

I've got a mate that owns a phoneshop, sure he charges about £75 to change a screen on one. He's told me not to get one as it's far easier changing screens for me on a nokia.........

 

I'd have thought it would be worthwhile trying one of the smaller independents. I'd recommend my mate but he's a bit far away for you.

ps As for the original query, try drying it out for a couple of days and try a different battery, sometimes it's only that that goes.

is there not an app for that? (sorry but it had to be said sooner or later). i'd go for drying out for a couple of days and see how it goes.

I was told to put it in a full jar of rice (so its buried) and leave it, The rice will help draw the moisture out of the phone!! kinda like the little packets of gel you find in box's sometimes. not sure how well it works as I have never soaked it. I did douse the terminals in seawater by accident once though, corroded the terminals to hell!! fortunately plugging in the charger repeatedly cleaned then enough to work again.

I'm curious about the uprated battery the website mentions, I'm fed up of mine dropping dead only half way though the day and want something with longer life.

i got a complete front from the Bay for £22 delivered it takes approx 20 min to change the front

I did try the whole rice drying out thing. Dude said there was alot of corrosion inside.....it was nice and dry though.
