After a very informative but uncomfortable day at Santon Downham for the Forest Research health day, I stretched me legs & had a wonder around through some of the local forest.

 

By far the nicest find was this Russula, possibly R. sardonia

I think there may be a cartoon story board in there somewhere

 

 

 

Few bits of Phaeolus on these Cedars, but they look well looked after, whoever manages them

Undoubtedly due to a monoculture pine/larch plantation close by?

 

 

Not really Tony, this park is almost in the middle of the town of Bury St Edmunds, Thetford forest is a fair few miles away.
