The Orange powdery stuff on the tree trunks is Trentepohlia I think... Its an Alga that uses carotene rather than chlorophyll to produce energy from light. It is like a lichen except that it does not have a symbiotic relationship with a fungi. I know nothing about mushrooms and fungi tho! haha

Thanks bender. The orange stuff was everywhere, I was wondering what it was.

 

The name stinkhorn def. suits those- could smell them long before I saw them, which helped me work out what they were lol.

 

Thanks SJH. I was at the same place last year but didn't get opportunity to look round so much, it's a lovely area.
