Alright Peter - I'd say no really not worth the effort. Poplar is a wood that just doesn't seem to be used for much. It's supposed to be a good timber for truck beds etc as is springy but of course it's not all that durable.....

Not yet, the money I was going to spend on slabs went towards a tradeshow but still planning on getting some soon. I am trying to track down some 1m+ wide square edge oak slabs air or kiln dried at the moment for some orders I have. Do you still have the burr elm?, though to be honest have tracked down some giant burr oak rings that I will probably buy first so wouldn't be soon.

Has anyone got anything new?, I am a bit short of wood to use at the moment. In particular need to find some oak (air dried/kiln dried) that will yield square edge slabs 900mm + by 2400mm +. Also generally on the look out for anything interesting in single slab or bookmatched pairs if particularly unusual.

Might have thought of a way to use that black pop Rob if you still have it? And PM'd JPH re the burr elm if still around.

Not got a lot new. May have some big 4ft oak slabs in a month or so.

Got some good size dry black pop slabs, a couple of oak. I'll measure them up and post the sizes up.

The large beech I had was a bit far gone for milling.
