I said: Do you speak Spanish mate?, if not you'll only work for the english

Dagmar said: Its necessary to speak or understand the local dialect (I think that must be what 'vasco' is)

Mr Ed said:Be prepared for ETA to blow your car up, can be a bit inconvenient

Muy bien MR Ed

The reason I wrote in spanish, by the way. if you ask someone if they speak spanish, you find out quicker if you do it in spanish. Mines rusty as haven't used it much for a few years now, so its always good to get an excuse to practice.

Mistake in my spanish

should be hablas espanol not hables, as hablar is an ar verb.

Its been buggin me for days, thought about it when I was out on a job. Arbtalk seems to be gettin right into my head, bit like 'big brother' for tree surgeons

I worked near Madrid, and near Granada, for 4 years and had my own tree thing going. All big eucys mostly and felling out big bits as they always want them for doin the roof on ruins.

That contact in Galicia sounds interesting, I can never find any contacts in France and Spain, unless you meet other tree people when your'e out there.

Are you still out there Treeworld?

Did you go to Spain?

Yes I'm still out here. Thanks, gracias, Ezkerrik asko for your thoughts. Guernika and the surrounding area has a lot of forestry going on but mainly by harvesters!! I speak fluent spanish however my Euskerra ( basque ) is only a few words. I am a frequent visitor there and my wife is a basque. Long term plan is to relocate there as it is a most beautiful place, I need to continue with arb work and therefore am always looking for contacts.

until later, hasta luego, Agur!

Dave
