tree id needed

got told the name of a tree the other day, but ive somehow managed to forget and its doing my head in now, think its a palm of some type, only seen them about 12' max height, have fury outside "bark" and very fibrous inside and long thin leaves up top. anyone help me please or ill not be able to sleep tonite!!

having googled that doesnt seem to be the leaves are only about two inch wide and about two foot long. having had a look in my id book its similiar, leaf wise, to a european fan palm. cheers mike

Judging by the 'long thin leaves' I reckon it'll be a Yucca or a Cordyline
